Creative Work Experience

Metter Media

Creative Intern — Sept. 2020 – Dec. 2020

Associate Designer — Apr. 2021 – Nov. 2021

Metter Media is a social media agency in Cambridge, MA that specializes in increasing brand awareness and dynamic content marketing for many companies. Some of the brands they work with include Microsoft, Anna’s Taqueria, Quincy Mutual Group, and Eastern Insurance.

My role as a Creative Intern consisted of crafting static and motion social media graphics for Metter’s Instagram, leading brainstorming sessions with other interns to come up with content, and acting as a Creative Partner for four accounts.

The Creative Partner meets with an Account Manager to go over the editorial calendar for an account that month. I then create the graphics needed and curate a feed that aligns with the account’s brand and storytelling style. I served as the Creative Partner for Jake n JOES Sports Grille and Doherty Insurance from October to December 2020, Tile Showcase from November 15th to December 15th 2020, and Gaudette Insurance from November 15th 2020 to January 15th 2021. I would also complete smaller tasks for other accounts and led a few social media projects for Metter. Below are some of the graphics I created during my time at Metter:

Office of Marketing Communications – Emmanuel College

Lead Brand Ambassador — Sept. 2019 – May 2020

I learned about the Lead Brand Ambassador role during the summer after my sophomore year when two staffs members from the marketing office pitched this project to the Orientation team. They had an idea to make a microsite driven by current students to share what it was like to be an Emmanuel Saint. It was a project that I wanted to get behind. As a three-time Orientation leader, I knew what current students were going through and what prospective Emmanuel students wanted to know.

The microsite, Inside EC, was launched in December 2019. I served as the lead on this project with the help of four other interns. Starting in January 2020, we posted twice a week and would explore campus to hear more stories. Together we gathered, edited, and formatted over 60 student testimonials and categorized them into our three main identifiers: Campus, City, and Community.

These are three core aspects of the Emmanuel experience. Starting at the center is the campus— this involves residence life, classes, student activities, and more. The city is important because Boston is Emmanuel’s extended classroom and is one of the best places to be as a student. And lastly, community. There are Emmanuel saints all over the globe and we’re all connected.

Inside EC is a very special project to me because Emmanuel is a very special place. I feel so lucky that I got to create something for all EC students to come.

Fall 2020 Public Relations & Persuasion Final Project – Media Kit

In the fall semester of my senior year, I took an introduction to public relations course. It explored the field of public relations and the practices of persuasive and strategic communication. During the semester we addressed basic definitions and principles of public relations, the field’s historical and theoretical underpinnings, the process of working in public relations, identifying and working with key publics, and executing public relations writing.

For the final assignment, I selected a Boston-based organization and created a hypothetical event that would be useful for this company to host based on a SWOT analysis. I then used Adobe Indesign and Photoshop to design a media kit. The goal was to promote the event to journalists in hopes that they write about the event ahead of time, attend the event, and write about the event after.

As a bookworm, I naturally chose my favorite independent bookstore, Trident Booksellers & Café on Newbury Street. My fictional event was a collaboration with the Boston Public Library Fund for National Literacy Month. I came up with a Book Tasting— an event where the bookstore selected titles and paired them with hor d’oeuvres that matched the book’s essence. The proceeds of the event went towards renovating the Children’s Corner at the Central library branch.
